Dr. Oneeka Williams Third Book Now Available!–Harvard-educated medical doctor and active practicing surgeon Dr. Oneeka Williams continues on her mission to promote literacy and science education with her third book in the Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo children’s book series. Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Saturn Surprise completes the SPACE SCIENCES trilogy of her series, and the next trilogy of books will focus on ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, with Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Beemore Breakthrough coming out in the summer of 2015. A strong advocate for STEM education for girls and minorities as well as for literacy and diversity in children’s literature, Dr. Williams speaks frequently and has been honored for her creative and innovative way to bring science to girls and underrepresented minorities.

Dr. Williams Delivers Keynote Speech at Girl Scouts STEM Conference.–As the keynote speaker at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts third annual STEM Conference and Expo on March 15, 2015, Dr. Oneeka Williams shared her personal journey and encouraged girls to “Dream and Dream Big!”

Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo Book Series Featured in Essence Magazine–The children's book series authored by Dr. Oneeka Williams was featured in the section "10 Things We're Talking About" in the June 2014 issue of Essence Magazine. The headliine was "Changing the Ratio" and was about the low representation of Black characters in children's books published in 2013.


NEW BOOK ANNOUNCED! Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo's Saturn Surprise Stimulates Children's Interest in Science and Space

(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE–February 25, 2015–Boston, MA)– Boston-based surgeon and author Dr. Oneeka Williams has announced the publication of her new children’s book Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Saturn Surprise, the third book in her Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo Book Series.

DR. DEE DEE DYNAMO–GIRL SUPER HERO– Born with supernatural powers from electrical energy, 9-year old girl Super SurgeonDr. Dee Dee Dynamo, jets around the Universe from her home base on the Island of Positivity fixing problems with her gifted hands.  While visiting the local Planetarium one day, Gordon the Gullible Globe sounds the alarm that Saturn's rings have disappeared. Dr. Dee Dee is skeptical but mobilizes her team of assistants and surgical instruments on an intriguing and SURPRISING mission to Saturn. The rings are literally revolting when she arrives and Saturn is distressed and overwhelmed by the uprising and the continued scrutiny of the Cassini-Huygens Spacecraft!  'Hot off the press' science information is shared as Dr. Dee Dee negotiates with the rings, moves and grooves to the 'Do the Saturn Dance' and surgically reconstructs the rings!

NEW BOOKS in the Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo Children’s Series Will Highlight CLIMATE CHANGE & Other ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE––Boston, MA)– Boston-based surgeon and author Dr. Oneeka Williams has announced Environmental Sciences as the next category for the upcoming publication of three new titles in her Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo children’s book series. Dr. Williams three initial books focused on Space Science: 1) Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Mission to Pluto; 2) Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Meteorite Mission; and 3) Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo’s Saturn Surprise. 

Teaching Children about Important Environmental Issues: In addition to cultivating a love for science in children, Dr. Williams wants to highlight the intersection of science and responsibility, and will be educating children about the issues of oceanographic pollution, climate change and the declining bee population in her Environmental Science books, scheduled for publication in 2015. Her goal is to encourage more environmentally-friendly behavior and a consciousness that advances science and technology without adversely 

affecting the environment............
